2007 - 2008 A few words from Pete Miller (William’s Dad)

Always looking towards a new year. That is one thing you can always rely on. Next year brings another chance, another set of challenges.
The 2007 - 2008 season went well. I know there was a lot of expectation from everyone. But to be honest the boys did really well. New team & new management.

The previous year the boys won the 2nd Division. To come up to the first division and stay up is an achievement. Better then that they finished 6th and scared all the top teams along the way. Not every team can perform as well after stepping up. There are a lot of games that could have gone either way. The boys did show patches of performance that was better then just about every other team in the league. Our boys play good football without any of the dirty tactics. They will need to be stronger and more prepared to fight in 2008 - 2009 season.

Things for next season

  • More talking between the parents. Sharing ideas
  • More open meetings - to bring the team together (adults and boys). May be a standing monthly meeting at a pub.
  • Boys to be stronger and get stuck in.
  • Manager, coaches - be strong enough to do what they want to do.
  • Feedback to the boys as to where their strengths are and where they need to improve.
  • Training - parents, if you feel training needs to be changed - talk to the coaches - they can only disagree or more likely listen & thank-you.
  • Training - boys to be better behaved. Fun but listening and learning.
  • Training - more Dads (and Mums) to join in.
  • Try the boys in different positions.

Everything to be positive  - the boys deserve it...... Good luck next season.
